Mr. Spieler grew up in south St. Louis and attended Emmaus Lutheran School, Holy Cross Lutheran School and received his high school education at Lutheran High School South. Mr. Spieler received his bachelor’s degree from Concordia University, Seward NE, and his Masters degree from the University of Texas, Edinburgh, Texas.
Mr. Spieler has served Green Park since 2010 and several other Lutheran schools since 1971. His wife, Cathy, is also a teacher at another area Lutheran school. They have four grown children and six grandchildren.
Mr. Spieler enjoys woodworking, traveling, and gardening in his spare time.
In 1954, the principal of Emmaus Lutheran School, Mr. Grundmann, walked across the street to talk to Mr. Spieler and invited his family to come to Emmaus for school and to learn about Jesus. Mr. Spieler’s strong passion in life is to help children and families grow in their relationship with Jesus. He believes that Green Park exists to be a high quality academic school that also emphasizes the instruction in the Christian faith.
