As Special Education teacher for Lutheran Association for Special Education and Green Park Lutheran School, I am blessed to be able to team up with professionals and parents who share my Christian values in providing a Christ-centered education for all students but especially those that are experiencing learning and/or behavioral inefficiencies. The students I work with either are diagnosed with a learning disability, or are identified at-risk.
I am a 1980 graduate of Fontbonne University with thirty years of post-graduate studies and certification in both special education and elementary education. I have been teaching for thirty plus years, twenty-six of those years as resource room teacher or special education consultant and four years in a general education classroom. Every year I average thirty professional development hours. Keeping current with today’s educational trends and encouraging the usage of assistive technology in the classroom are my professional goals. My goal is to empower students to become independent learners and using technology plays a part in that role.
My church membership is at Our Savior Lutheran Church and School, where I serve on the Christian Board of Education. I also serve on the board at the Lutheran Community Center. My husband is the Parish Assistant at Our Savior. Our three children are all grown.
My hobbies are mostly computer related. I enjoy a good movie, spending time with my family and pets, and traveling when possible.
