Child Care

Child Care Philosophy

Child care services are a vital part of Green Park’s school ministry. Green Park is privileged to be able to offer both Before and After School Child Care. We believe that a child’s ability to be able to begin and end the day at the same school setting is important. We are very excited about the Child Care program for the 2011-2012 school year.

For this school  year, Child Care has added four new computers for students to use for homework and games.  Also, we have two air hockey tables, a ping pong table, and some other fun games for rainy days and those long winter months.

Information about the staff is provided below:

April Baese is the Child Care Director and a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She is also the mother of two children who currently attend GPLS.

Jeanette Hammon is a member of Christ Memorial Lutheran Church and is a mother of three children who currently attend GPLS.

Annette Heckenberg is a member of Peace Lutheran Church and mother of three children who graduated from GPLS. She also works in the daycare at Peace Lutheran Church.

Lois Puhlmann is a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church and also works in the Parents Day Out program at the church.

Sarah Matern is a 2004 graduate of GPLS and is a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church.

As you can see this is a staff of ladies that has many connections to GPLS and is dedicated to the welfare of the children and the success of the school. The primary concern of a parent is the knowledge that your child is being cared for by responsible individuals that will continue to foster the special kind of Christian learning environment they receive from their teachers during the school day. The After Care Program is structured with a specific “Quiet Time”, during which, the children are strongly encouraged to do their homework or read a book. The younger children spend this time working on art or being read to by a member of the staff. The parent’s support of the program is essential. Working together, we can create a quality program with Christian principles for all students who wish to use the Child Care Program.
