Ruthann Gieseke joined the Green Park faculty in 1985 as a 2nd grade teacher. In 1994 she moved to 3rd grade. As a campus leader in music you will find her playing piano for chapel, leading musicals, teaching music classes, after school piano and over the years serving as an assistant church musician.
She has served as an author and consultant of religious curricula for Concordia Publishing House, author of professional articles for teachers, and speaker on behalf of the LESA Music Curriculum Committee at local and state wide conferences. She was named “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers” in 2004, 2005 and 2006 and nominated for Disney’s Teacher of the Year Award in 2001 and 2006.
Each year 3rd graders join the “Laclede Connection” and are introduced to a buddy at Laclede Groves. The friendship begins with letters, a visit to the retirement community and a visit to Green Park. Her passion for the inter-generational ministry has been a blessing to old and young alike.
“To me, Green Park means heritage (our roots as we look back to where we began), home (our present growing place) and the harvest (as we nurture and enrich our students for service).”
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Colossians 3:16
