David Rusert

Grade 7 Homeroom

Middle School Social Studies

I grew up in the St. Louis area attending St. John Lutheran Church and School in Ellisville.  My high school years were spent at Lafayette High School, and I did my undergraduate work at Concordia College in River Forest, IL.  My first call was to Trinity Lutheran School in Toledo, Ohio.  The Lord blessed those 16 years in Toledo.  I taught for 13 years in Grades 4,6, & 8 and was Athletic Director most of those years.  I also met my wife, Mimi, and our sons, Joshua and Jeremy, were born during this time.  The Lord was leading us to make a change so I accepted a call to teach at Green Park in 1998.  I am entering my 16th year here, and this is now home.  My wife is a pharmacist at Mercy working mainly with hospice.  My son, Jeremy, is working for Schnucks, while Joshua is studying to become a pastor at Concordia Seminary here in town.  Our home also includes two dogs, Eddie and Jake.

While here in St. Louis, I received my Master’s Degree from Walden University.  I currently teach history/social studies in the Middle School and coach 5/6 Soccer and 7/8 boys Basketball, and I am the starter for many of the track meets in the spring, along with being the Athletic Director.  We are members at Christ Memorial and enjoy contemporary worship and doing chancel dramas.  My interests include history, sports (Go Blues, Cardinals, & Rams!), home improvement, and travel.  I am excited to serve Jesus and His people at Green Park, and look forward to a great year!
