Hello! I am the 1st Grade teacher here at Green Park. My husband, Daniel, and I are originally from St. Louis. We moved back when he received the call to be the Director of Christian Education (DCE) at Christ Memorial. We are very excited to be back among family and friends. Our son, Caleb, is five and he loves spending time playing with cousins and being spoiled by having grandparents around. Our daughter Elise was born after our move back to St. Louis. She is now two and loves babies and kitties.
I have attended Lutheran schools my entire life. My schooling began at St. John’s Ellisville. I graduated 8th grade from St. John’s in 1996. From there, I went on to attend high school at Lutheran South and graduated in 2000. Then, even though I was convinced I would never go to school in the cornfields, God led me to Concordia in Seward, Nebraska. This is where I met my husband and we learned we had grown up about 30 minutes apart from each other our whole lives. We graduated in May of 2004 and were married that June.
Daniel’s internship year led us to Gilbert, AZ where he worked with Junior High Youth at Christ Greenfield. I was a long term substitute for the first half of the year at Christ the Redeemer in Glendale. Then I subbed the remaining year in other Lutheran and public schools. From there Daniel accepted the call to be the DCE at Lord of Glory in Elk River, MN. For a year, I served as a 1st Grade classroom aide at St. John Elk River. After that I received a call from Crown Christian School in St. Francis to be their combined 1st and 2nd grade teacher. I taught 1st and 2nd grade for two years. Then I taught a year of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and my last year there I taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. I had the joy of teaching some of those students for four years! For the last three years, I have taught here at Green Park. This year begins my 9th year teaching. 1st Grade has always been my favorite grade, so count myself blessed to teach a classroom full of wonderful Firsties.
When I am not busy with teaching and planning lessons, I enjoy spending time with family. Together we go camping, biking, and to many of the fun St. Louis attractions. When I am able to find time to relax I enjoy scrapbooking, quilting, reading and eating Sesame Chinese.
My husband and I are very excited about this opportunity to be in ministry together at a church and school that are affiliated with one another. We attend worship at Christ Memorial. There my husband teaches Junior and Senior high youth and I enjoy being able to help him in his ministry there.
We are very thankful God has brought us to serve here at Green Park and Christ Memorial. We look forward to serving and growing in our faith along with you in the years to come!
