What to wear:

Students should wear their green “Known. Loved. Valued.” shirts that were distributed this year with shorts or pants of your choice.  Parents and siblings who do not attend Green Park – we would love to look like a sea of green, so please wear any green you may have.  Don’t forget water and sunscreen!

Drop off for parade participants:

Vehicles dropping off parade participants will not be allowed in the staging area. They may park behind Bayless Elementary School (4531 Weber Road) and ride the shuttle bus to Affton High School. Tell the marshals you are with Green Park Lutheran School. The parade marshals will then direct you to the appropriate entry.

All minors within the Green Park unit must be accompanied by an adult.  If your child will be with a friend, it is the parent’s responsibility to make sure your child has a dedicated supervisor.  Teachers and staff will not be supervising.  Please feel free to use strollers and wagons for younger children.  There will be 1-2 trucks with trailers available for younger students to ride in if needed, but if they choose to ride in the trailer, there is no in/out privileges.  They will need to remain in the trailer the entirety of the parade for safety reasons.  Older kids can also bring scooters or use roller blades if they are confident in their skills but please note there are some hills.  Helmets are highly encouraged.

Arrival Time:
Individual participants can arrive at Bayless Elementary between 8:00am and 9:00 am, but please allow time for riding the shuttle bus to the staging area

Participant Shuttle Bus Schedule:

8:00-9:00 am: Bayless Elementary School ↔ Affton High School

SAFETY RULES

  • The parade marshals have full authority to make and enforce decisions, which will ensure the safe progress of the parade.
  • To ensure everyone’s safety, the Affton-Lemay Chamber of Commerce strictly prohibits the throwing of any items from the parade units. We recommend that candy and any other items be handed out by walkers in the curb lanes. Anyone violating this rule will be asked by the parade marshals to drop out of the parade.

End of parade:

When the parade reaches the Bayless Elementary School, entries that do not need to drop off participants or breakdown their float must continue on Weber Road. Entries that need to breakdown and drop off participants will follow the marshals/police directions to park near the Bayless Elementary School. There will be a shuttle bus returning to Affton High School.
