Hi! I am the 5th grade teacher here at GPLS.

I was born and raised here in St. Louis by two wonderful parents who happened to be former teachers of Green Park (Ted and Barb Palisch). I attended Green Park and then Lutheran South. Some of my favorite memories as a child are playing sports, going roller skating, Wet Willies Water Slide, Six Flags, playing Kick the Can in our neighborhood, and Grant’s Farm.

Out of college, my first teaching position was third grade at Word of Life Lutheran School. I coached volleyball and taught third grade for six years. During that time I also married David, who accepted a job with Boeing in Wichita, Kansas. We moved to Haven, KS (3 miles east of Yoder – an Amish town) where God put me in a unique position. I was teacher and principal at St. Paul’s Lutheran School. My first year there I taught grades 1-8 (14 students). I will never forget that. I taught grades 1-6 for two years following and then grades 4-6 for four more years. I had one student 6 years in a row! I was certainly his favorite teacher.

David and I had our first child, Joseph, while living in Kansas, and in 2003 we moved back to St. Louis to be close to our families again. In 2004 I completed my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and we had our second child, Katie. I was hired as a teacher aide here at Green Park in 2005 and continued as one for six years.

Both of our children attend Green Park, and they keep us busy with all their school sports teams. When I’m not busy with their sports I enjoy playing coed volleyball. My husband and I also bowl in the Gethsemane Church League. During the summer months we like to spend time at the Lake of the Ozarks where we enjoy boating, skiing, tubing, fishing, and the waverunner.

I am so excited to be back in the classroom again! What better place than Green Park.
