Green Park Garden Sprouts

2016-05-09 11.42.31

You may have noticed Green Park becoming a bit more “green” this spring.  Thanks to last fall’s strategic planning groups, new ways for Vikings to learn and serve are sprouting.  It’s no secret our school is looking for ways to develop strong servant leaders.  The latest addition on the northeast corner of campus visible from Green Park Road is just that.  The garden will combine Science class and incorporate other lessons but Mr. Eggold had this to say, “We want this to be visible to the community as they drive by.  Setting up an opportunity for next year to be open to the public to garden on our property.”

Spurring more learning in the classroom and building partnerships for 8th graders to work with kindergarteners will be highlights.  Growing food for our own plates in the cafeteria can bring it all together.  Certainly we can show God’s work in growing food.  After all…‘who plants the seed beneath the sod and waits to see believes in God.’
