December Chapel Offering: St. Trinity Food Drive

You don’t have to go far to help others. St. Trinity Lutheran Church located at the corner of Vermont and Koeln is home of one of the largest food pantries in the city serving over 1,000 people each month (if supplies last). Besides providing food they also provide clothing and an after school tutoring program for neighbors.

Green Park alum Pastor Dave Lewis (’76) along with wife, Heidi, and daughter, Sklar, are at the center of it all. Pastor Lewis and his family has served in mission for the last 10 years outside of Memphis and in the past year he was called to serve at St. Trinity Lutheran Church in south St. Louis city. St. Trinity is the 4th oldest church in the city that once had 1,000 members. The congregation now has 50.

During the months of November and December Green Park is hosting a FOOD DRIVE to help stock St. Trinity’s pantry. Food donations will be collected in each classroom. What’s best? Canned fruit, tuna, macaroni and other foods that kids can easily prepare at home. Cans & boxes, no glass please.
